I was up till midnight working on Restore The Fourth stuff, then woke up this morning at 5:30. Maybe some of y’all only need five and a half hours of sleep, but I’m still groggy. And I need to leave for work in six minutes.
You tell me: what are you working on these days? Personal projects, home renovations, new website? Reading or watching anything interesting? Leave it in the comments! Feel free to shamelessly self-promote, and leave a link if you want. (But if you leave two links in a single comment, WordPress will auto-flag it as spam, so stick to just one.)
And, go!
Writing-wise: The first draft of a novel, a second story for The Fauxpocalypse Project, and reviewing the roughs of Fauxpocalypse so far.
Otherwise: I watched the first episode of the Dresden Files last night: as an adaptation of the books, it felt off, Bob the Skull especially; as a supernatural series it was a great mix of camp and horror.
A story and a novel. Good luck with both. 🙂
Thank you.
When I draft short stories I start to miss the opportunity to explore more, and when I work on the draft of a novel I start to feel like I have been writing the same idea forever. Therefore, I am experimenting with finishing the first draft of my novel and writing a series of short stories in parallel.
Finding a job at 45 years old.
Best of luck.
It’s summer, I’m not supposed to be working on anything. I have a ridiculously intense school year lined up, so I just want to relax. Though, one thing I am doing (relaxedly) is working on my tree house. I’m no engineer or anything, but I’m pretty damn proud of it. The walls are mostly done, and I’m looking into roofing and anti-zombie weaponry to upgrade it with next.
Sounds sweet! Got any pictures of the fortress-in-progress?
Sure! I’m not very good with the camera, but it gives the general impression I hope. You can still see through the back wall, but the side and front only need a few more pieces each- I just ran out of the shorter of the two lengths I cut 😦
WHOA!! Okay this is a *lot* bigger than I had imagined. Very, very cool. 😀

Thank you 🙂
I’m working on a new story (well, “story,” but it will probably be novella-ish in length), and I’m pretty pleased with it. Two characters just met for the first time (one I haven’t written about in 20 years, and the other I’ve been writing about for the last 15) and one immediately started to put serious moves on the other one. Which came as a surprise to me, but I can see the possibilities.

Very cool.
